retain file timestamp when keywording
« on: August 28, 2007, 07:27:31 PM »
When I ingest my files I have PM set the file timestamp to the EXIF date/time.  However, when I go back and keyword my images PM updates the file timestamp to the date/time they were keyworded.  I prefer to have the timestamps of the files match the time the photo was taken.  This allows me to sort and view them in order in apps that may not read or understand EXIF.  It seems inconsistent to make the effort to set the file timestamp to the EXIF timestamp at ingestion and then overwrite that value when the images are keyworded.  I think in most workflows that keywording happens after ingestion, not during.

Along with retaining the timestamp it is important that the archive bit be set on these files to allow backup/sync software to detect the changes.  Both of these features are a part of BreezeBrowser and are an essential part of my workflow.

Thanks!
