Forum search working?
« on: September 17, 2007, 08:54:32 AM »
When I try to search for some of my old posts (search text is 'Deven'), I get zero results.  When you search for 'Baker', you only get one page of results, which is far too few.

So it appears that search results are not very reliable.

True, they aren't very good.  I don't know if it can be fixed.

The only thing I can suggest at this point is a site-only search using Google like so:

http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&safe=off&as_qdr=all&q=Deven+site%3Aforums.camerabits.com&btnG=Search

I would think you'd want the search to work so that customers can find answers to questions that have already been addressed.  Hopefully this would save you some work  ;D

Of course I want it to work.  But the forums software we use was not written by us and it's free software so the likelihood of it being fixed is low.

It would be great if it were fixed.
