EXIF writing
« on: November 09, 2007, 04:02:34 PM »
Is PM capable of copying EXIF info from a Nikon NEF file to a jpg file of the same name in batch?
I would like to write the EXIF data from roughly 200 NEF files to their corresponding jpg files.

Thanks,
Tom Heim

No, there is no such feature in Photo Mechanic at this time.

I had a similar problem previously since my workflow involves such a step but discovered that PM can generate me the JPGs from my Canon RAW files this way I don't need to copy the EXIF, most of the EXIF data is there in the extracted JPG as well. For me this has been a solution. Maybe it helps you as well.
Working on Mac, OSX, iOS and with some Canons.
Allways shooting RAW.

There is a free command line utility that is able to copy EXIF-data from NEFs to Jpegs. It is called exiftool and is available here: http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
