Navigator Sorting
« on: June 08, 2006, 09:18:59 AM »
One thing that is driving me crazy is that folders in the Navigator don't appear to be sorted in any order that I can determine.  I prefer that they be sorted by name, as they are named ... Roll-001-01JAN06-Subject1, Roll-002-01JAN06-Subject2, etc.  With hundreds of folders, it is quite a waste of time trying to find the one I'm looking for.  I've looked all over and can't find a setting to tell it how to sort the folders.  Am I missing something?

Please tell me the Photo Mechanic version number and what OS you're using.

Hi Kirk,

I'm on 4.4 with XP Home.

Please upgrade to 4.4.3 and the sorting should be just like in Windows Explorer.  For you, the upgrade will be free since you are already using 4.4.0.

Great, that solved the problem.  Is there a way to change the sort order in navigator, though?

No. Right now it just sorts the way Windows Explorer does.  What kind of sorting are you looking for?

Kirk:

I am demoing 4.4.3.3. I have noticed that the sort order of sub-folders within folder in the Favorites window appears to be the order in which the folders were created. Is there a way to make this alphabetical.

You can drag and drop to reorder them however you like.
