Color Coding - Notebook and Desktop
« on: December 27, 2007, 01:44:12 AM »
Hello,

my searches for "notebook", "laptop" and "two computers" did not bring up what I would like to ask.

I saved my pics on a mobile HD, Hypersdrive Space, checked the pics on my notebook with PM 4.5.3 and attached colorcodings to them.
When looking at the same files on my PC, all colorcodings were lost.

Is the a way to take the colorcodings from one computer to another?

Thanks, Christian

By default, PM only writes the colour class/star rating to the file when other IPTC/XMP information also changed.  I guess in your case you only added a colour class and didn't update any of the other information.

To force PM to always write the colour class/star rating, set the corresponding option in Edit|Preferences|Files to "Always for all files".  This will not help your existing images, however.  To update your existing images, Tools|Update IPTC/XMP... may work (not 100% sure though, haven't tried this).

Hope this helps,
