Email images paired with their file numbers
« on: January 17, 2008, 05:14:13 AM »
Peter Aaron: Can you show file numbers next to each emailed pic in PM?

Marc Bryan-Brown: yes, but you're not going to be happy...

you write {filename} in the body of the message in the send pix by email dialog box.

Problem is  IT ONLY DOES IT FOR THE FIRST IMAGE.

So to make it work you have to check send each image as individual email and then cut and paste each one into.
Its quicker than any other method I've figured out but it still sucks.

You can also write {caption} or both

Peter: Yikes! Is this being addressed in future upgrades?

Kirk: No, it isn't since it is not possible to do such a thing by the limited capabilities of AppleScript on Mac OS X and via MAPI on Windows.  If it were, I would have done it a long time ago.

Could we have the image number pasted into the image (like a watermark?)

Sure, use the Watermarking button and then enter

{filename}

as the text.  Each image will have the filename drawn over it in the location you choose.  You can use any other applicable variables as well if you like.
