I would be very valuable if Photo Mechanic would work in the following way:
If an image in a directory is drag-and-dropped onto the PM desk top icon (or if a command line programme invocation is done with a file name as the first parameter), photomechanic should open that directory (contact sheet), position the thumbnails to the specified file name, select that file and display that file in the preview screen.
This feature would make PM much more useful when interfacing with external catalogue programmes (possibly written in C, Visual Basic, etc) - as well as more logical in operation for normal interactive use when browsing directories.
I gather that at least part of this is supposed to happen, however the window's implementation seems to be broken.
