Color class & star rating shortcut keys

Under Windows 4.5.3, why do the star rating shortcut keys (Alt+1, Alt+2, etc.) beep when pressed in the Preview window?  The color class shortcuts do not beep.

Why don't the shortcuts work in the IPTC dialog?

I don't know.  I hadn't noticed.

Why don't the shortcuts work in the IPTC dialog?

Because I didn't add code in the IPTC Info dialog to monitor for those keystrokes.

I'd appreciate it if these could be fixed.

I doubt I am alone in using an auxiliary keypad input device and programming the keypad with PM keystroke sequences.  This approach would be enhanced if the shortcuts were implemented consistently across the various windows.

I think this would also make the IPTC Info dialog more keyboard friendly as right now there is no way to enter the star and color class ratings without using the mouse.

I second this. I also use an auxilary input device (game controler that I never used for games) to set keystrokes to specific buttons and adding color and star ratings in the IPTC window would often help.
