Howto generate printable contact sheets like this..?
« on: June 01, 2008, 01:00:01 PM »
Hello!

up to now I use another application only for printing contactsheets.
I hope such a layout with frames is also possible with PM!

Best Regards,
Brendan

With the exception of the black border (frames) around each cell, you should be able to achieve a similar layout in Photo Mechanic.

...how? ::)

It can't be done exactly like that example photo.  Photo Mechanic has no option to draw borders around the entire 'cell'.

Very unlikely if you don't show me what would be more beautiful...

Personally, I think the little black outlined boxes you showed in your earlier postings are not really attractive.  They're just to busy and distracting.

hi Kirk,

> Very unlikely if you don't show me what would be more beautiful...

in my first posting in this thread I show a contact sheet that I like.

OK kirk, you're right, the little black outlined boxes are not really necessary, but nice.
It this difficult to code?

Now I use 5 rows, 3 columns. This looks not so bad.

But of course, still very basic.. the headline is very close to the first row of pictures, no chance to place some nice logo and contact information... change the font sizes and styles.. thats a pity. (thinking on all the variables, .. I like to use them also when printing)

Like I said earlier, show me a mockup of what you're looking for.  That would be helpful.

there's already a screenshot :)

features were nice:
- change the font sizes and styles
- using everywhere the genious variables
- place the text whereever I want (currently, all is fixed, the headline very close to the pictures..)
- placing a logo

I looked closer to the prints and I have to say that the thumbs are very unsharpen.
I checked the "sharpen thumbnails" option in the preferences and used Full resolution on the printing tab.

This sheets I cant give with a good feeling out to my customers .. :(

ok, these quality issues are solved by adjusting the settings of the PDF printing device. :-)

:-(

Hold down the Shift key while you open the Page Setup dialog and the new default printer will be acquired.
