Hasselblad and PM
« on: July 28, 2008, 01:17:10 PM »
In each new version of PM I test to see if the *.FFF files of Hasselblad works with PM.
Today I have been surprised when in a forum dedicated to Haselblad I read this:

Quote
I just rechecked on my system at work where i have PhotoMechanic installed  (version 4.4.3.3)

I have no noticeable problem with PM seeing fff files from a  H3D-31 nor are there problems with fff files from an H3D-39.

I am able to alter, edit, and add metadata from within PhotoMechanic and verified that it does carry through to the processed tiff
when open in CS3.

I have the H3D-39, and with PM 4.5.3.2 beta 6 in Mac OS X 10.5.4 the FFF files are not recognized. I have some problem?
Thanks and saludos,
Jose.

I am surprised that the poster on the Hasselblad forum said that PM 4.4.3.3 works fine since we have never added Hasselblad support to any version of Photo Mechanic.

Kirk

I'm the guy !!

As mentioned,I seem to have had no significant issues with PM 4.4.3.3 recognizing Hasselblad .fff files
I've attached a screenshot for your info that shows a folder of .fff files open in PM but indicate that only
date and time exif is recorded

I don't use any Hasselblad backs regularly so this topic is only of curiosity to me but is of importance to others who  might be
looking for a more streamlined way to caption and keyword

Best,

Can you upload some of those images to our server so I can check them out?

Please send me a personal message for upload instructions.

Thanks,

Thanks for the samples.  I have looked into them and it appears that the best preview data that they contain is less than half a megapixel.  Is there a way to get the Phocus software to embed a larger preview when it creates the .FFF file?

Kirk

I think you're going to have to recruit a Hasselblad back owner to move forward with this.
As I don't own a back,I have no need to have Phocus installed so can't help you with the options available
with that software.
