Burn and crash

Hi-Love PM, using 4.5.3.2 on Mac OS X.4.11. Been burning multiple disk folders for a few days now on external burner. Now PM is hanging, using force quit option to get out. Tried on internal burner with same result. Upped cache sizes, set to delete cache on quit and did clean quit, ran OSX repair permissions and daily, weekly, monthly unix scripts. Still no joy. Checked Finder prefs for ingnore DVD. Restarted everything a bunch of times. Any known issues or thoughts? Thanks.
