Ingest Problem
« on: February 09, 2009, 04:17:35 PM »
Background info:
Mac OS X v.  10.4.11
PM v. 4.5.4
1GB RAM
cameras: Canon 20d, Canon PowerShot SD950

When I plug my camera into my computer by USB cord PM launches and opens, but the ingest window doesn't open.  When I go to File, then Ingest the window opens, but my camera is not listed in the Source Paths so I am unable to upload the photos from my camera.  ???

Photo Mechanic only accesses disks mounted as a volume on your computer.  Cameras connected directly to the computer often do not act as a drive at all.  We suggest that you get an inexpensive card reader (USB 2.0 or FireWire 400/800) and take the cards from your camera and insert them into your card reader.  Card readers offer faster throughput and do not run out of batteries.
