One idea concerning Betas...
« on: March 17, 2009, 08:31:41 AM »
Hi,

I find it very annoying to get the "This is a beta that will expire bla bla" everytime I open PM. I know this is only in the beta but since we are using it to correct errors in the public release I would find it better to come up with this pop up when the beta expires or 2 days before etc.

This extra click when opening is annoying and I would trust myself to check on the latest update myself if this pop up would go away.

Just a thought :)

Cheers...

Can't disagree with the annoying message and required click to get going. However, I would prefer an added "don't bug me with message again" checkbox. If I check it then I take responsibility for possibly missing the deadline, and can't gripe at Camera Bits if I did miss it. Alternatively, the beta message could just be included as part of the start-up splash screen, but without the required click.

I agree. A checkbox or a splash would be so much better. Just the extra click is something that stalls ones work, for a few moments anyway :)

Any way to get rid of it?

There is no way to get rid of the beta warning.  Unless we remove it in the final version.  Can't you just leave it open all day instead of quitting it and launching it repeatedly?
