Bug - Code Replacment - Keywords Panel -> Keyword conversion

do a Control - K
in Appling box
\21\
"apply to Selected Image"

Image shows correct Keyword
Icon "I" shows the correct keyword (code replacement Keywork...like I expect it to happen)


go to explorer, show details...show column "Tags"
it shows "\21\" and not the code replacement


go back to PM
click on icon "I"
hit a return after the keyword

hit "OK"

go back to explorer....Tag is correct now.


really messes up when you do several like
\21\,\22\,\23\


on the contact sheet if you show keyword...it is correct
if you do that and then hit the
"i" icon on the image, it shows some of the code replacement but shows some of the
pre - code replacement

I used some old images since I was trying to make sure it was really a bug.

I also saw some strange display like
don't have a Code Replacement file
put it a code replacement 21
set up a code replacment file
the contact sheet will now show "keyword" and not 21 but the file still has 21 in it.

it is changing the keyword on the fly but not really changing the keyword

the reason I bring up the above is that helps to display better what might be happening.

Your files do not have expanded keywords in them.  They have things like \20\ or \20\, \40\, \50\ in them.  You need to have a Code Replacement file setup before you enter codes into the IPTC dialogs.  Otherwise they're just left as is.  What is likely happening here is that you're entering your codes and accepting the changes in the IPTC dialog boxes, then after that you're loading a Code Replacement text file that has those codes in it.  You've also likely got a Contact Sheet label set to show {keywords} which dynamically evaluates the keywords field and performs the now-valid replacements.  But just viewing the photos in the contact sheet does not cause them to be updated.

All you need to do is perform some sort of change to the IPTC Info on the photos and they'll be updated correctly.  And if you don't want this to happen again in the future, please make sure you have your Code Replacement text file already loaded before you try to use it.
