DNG preview?
« on: April 22, 2009, 02:39:28 PM »
Kirk-apologies if this question has been asked and answered previously, but a search of the forum did not provide an answer. How does PM "render" the jpg preview from a DNG file in Mac OSX 10.5.6?

Thanks-

The embedded JPEG preview does not require any rendering, just decoding, color management, and drawing to the screen.

Does PM employ Apple's CoreImage to achieve "decoding, color management, and drawing to the screen"?

Photo Mechanic does not use CoreImage.  It uses a variety of other technologies to do decoding, color management and drawing to the screen.
