Wav-files from Canon RAW
« on: April 25, 2009, 06:41:50 AM »
Hi,

Attatched to some of our images (RAW,CR2) we have audio, as a WAV-file. PhotoMecanic recognizes that a .wav-file is present, and shows a little speaker in the left lower corner of the images that has audio. But nothing happens when the speaker-symbol is pressed.

It is possible to play the file via Windows Explorer, so there is nothing wrong with the file.

Vista SP1
Have Quicktime, VLC and Windows Media Player installed.

Its a big problem for some of our photographers since they are using the audio-recording function in their camera instead of paper and pencil... So any help would be appreciated.

We use libSDL to play sounds asynchronously (means that it plays sounds in the background without making PM wait for it to complete) and it is likely that your sound card's drivers are out of date.  What sound card does the computer have?  Have you checked with the manufacturer to see if they have an updated driver for Windows Vista for your card?
