Custom White Balance
« on: September 18, 2009, 12:45:58 AM »
I am evaluating 4.6.3 (on Windows 7) but as someone whose images are low light indoor sport there is always a colour cast unless I can set a custom white balance. I cannot find a way of setting this in PM. Is it possible? If it isn't why isn't it as it must be an issue for a lot of indoor sports photographers and will it be added?

Those types of operations are performed in a separate editing application like Photoshop.  Photo Mechanic does not perform those types of adjustments.

jonmcg: White Balance is best set in post, ideally to raw images.

Second-best is setting WB in the camera (AWB works quite well on modern SLRs), especially if you need to hustle JPGs under deadline.

PM is designed for organizing batches of photos, not fine-tuning individual shots. I rely on this program's speed and discourage mission creep, lest it become a $300 app.
