Please respect the ReadOnly bit
« on: November 18, 2009, 12:06:38 AM »
When all the work on the images of one event is done, I set with PM modification date/time and then the ReadOnly bit on all the files in Windows Explorer. This will tell me and the system ‘it is done’ and I do not want to change anything more on the files.
This works fine for all programs with the exception of PM. It can happen that I change by mistake the star rating of one picture when viewing it and the file is changed…  >:(

I know the reason why you ignore the ReadOnly bit (almost all cameras have a ‘protect function’ and are setting this bit) and your solution of ignoring this bit is good for many photographers. But for computer minded people (like me) it’s not so good.

What about an new option ‘not to change read only files’ ? This would be of great help.

Thanks in advance.
