IPTC/XMP snapshots linked to file type
« on: November 18, 2009, 06:07:41 PM »
I have images from a few different cameras - Canon, Nikon, Panasonic. I also have different workflows based on the source image i.e. Lightroom for CR2's and Capture NX2 for NEF's.

I've set up some snapshots in the IPTC/XMP settings page to switch between settings for Capture and Adobe products. Problem is that it's easy to forget which one is in effect as there is no visual indication in IPTC Stationary Pad etc. Which leaves me worried that I'll end up 'contaminating' or, worse, erasing my metadata if I try an update a NEF while I have the Lightroom snapshot in effect.

So, I'm asking for a feature that would indicate in the Stationary Pad which snapshot is currently selected - maybe ability to change it from the pad as well?

Ultimately, it would be even better to be able to associate a IPTC/XMP snapshot with a file type so I don't even have to change it manually.
