Search function frustrations
« on: December 13, 2009, 08:29:55 PM »
Am trying out 4.6.2.1 (Mac Leo), but no matter how I apply keywords through Stationary Pad (as IPTC or XML) to a folder of RAW files, neither the Search or Find function will find them. I tried re-indexing the external hard drive the files are on but it still doesn't work. What am doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong.  Spotlight doesn't associate metadata in XMP sidecar files with RAW files.  I requested that Apple do this (several) years ago.  They weren't interested.  Because of this you'd need to embed IPTC/XMP data into your RAW files, but this may cause issues with other software.
