Error sending photos via email

I am running Photo Mechanic version 4.5.4 on an Intel-based MBP running OS X 10.5.8.

I receive the following error when I try to send photos via e-mail when using the crop function and a custom width of 700 or 800 pixels:

"An error occurred while preparing attachments."

Without the crop or with the crop in the other size options offered I do not experience this problem.

Any ideas on a fix?
