PM crashing

Hi

I'm running PM 4.6.3  using windows XP 2002

I keep getting crashes with this report :

The Instruction at "0x010321b2" referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate program


Haven't yet been able to pinpoint one thing specifically that I'm doing when it goes down, it seems to vary.  The last time, I was trying to alter the Refresh by right clicking a folder in the navigator, as per some guidelines in this forum.

Will keep working and post more detail as I can, but if anyone's got any ideas, I'd be grateful

Just happened again - this time report reads :

The Instruction at "0x0071bedb" referenced memory at "0x00000044". The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to terminate program

Was right-clicking a file in the navigator to find Properties when it crashed this time.

I'd expect that one of the images in the contact sheet you're browsing is damaged in some way that is causing PM to crash.  I suggest contacting our support folks on this issue since they would be better equipped to help you interactively (asking you to perform various tasks and waiting for the results) than I can here.  You can call them at 503-547-2888, 9AM to 5PM PST.

BTW, what is Windows XP 2002?

Thanks Kirk, I'll ring them.

The system properties says it is Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002.

The file I was clicking on held today's shots, stored on a new drive, but the crashes have been happening irrespective of which contact sheet was open, old or new.   In the last case, there were none open, just clicking on a file in the navigator.

I guess I've learned something new about Windows XP then.  I've never heard that a year was associated with it before.

I have seen those symptoms before on XP when either the drive or drive controller started to fail.  I would recommend checking the Event Viewer under System to see if there are errors caused by the hard drive chain. Checking Applications may give other clues but are probably more difficult to interpret.

I have also heard (but never witnessed) that some virus's will cause similar symptoms.
