new beta not showing psd files
« on: May 08, 2010, 02:24:48 PM »
I have been using the new beta version for some days now, without any problem. Suddenly today, when I save a file in photoshop as a psd, the saved version blinks in for a millisecond, and then vanishes, replaced by a blank white thumbnail. PSD file I saved last night are fine, and show up.

OS is Snow Leopard; currently using CS5, but same thing happens when I save file in CS4.

Please help.

PSD files need to be saved with 'Maximize compatibility' turned on.  Did you save them without 'Maximize compatibility' turned on?

yes ... somehow that had been turned off. Once I caught it & turned it on ... still didn't work, so I wound up saving the file as a TIFF, and then re-saved as a psd. That seemed to work.

Thanks for your quick reply.

You're welcome.  I'm certain that this isn't new (bad) behavior in the beta.  The PSD parsing/rendering hasn't changed for quite a while.
