IPTC Headline-Add text to existing info

Up front - I am a newbie here - tried to find an answer on the below question, but I am afraid that I may be have been looking at the wrong place.

I'd like to add words to info already existing in the IPTC Headline of selected photos.

e.g. existing headline for a LOT of photos says "Vacation, France, 2003", later,
for some photos, I wish to add the names of persons on the photos, so you may get
something like "Michael, James, Vacation, France, 2003"

How to do this ?

Usually the Headline field isn't used for identifying persons in a photo.  Keywords is a good choice.  The Headline field isn't an appendable field.

To add Michael, James to the Keywords field in bulk, first select your images.  Then you would use the IPTC Stationery Pad which can be accessed from the Image menu.  Enter Michael, James into the Keywords field and be sure to also set the '+' checkbox next to the Keywords field.  This will ensure that you don't remove any existing Keywords, you'll append.  Click on the "Apply Stationery to Selected" button.  That will perform the bulk append of your new keywords.

Oh, by the way: is it possible to have the keywords 'wrap', when being displayed under the thumbnails.
Once adding more specific information, the keywords get lengthy, "Michael, James, Vacation, Longcityname, 2003"

No.  There is no word wrapping of the text labels under the thumbnails.
