Actuation Count for Canon 1d Mark III
« on: August 18, 2010, 03:16:03 PM »
I am trying PM (Demo) and one of the features I am looking for is determining actuation count.  I did some digging and tried to add that feature under "edit-settings-set info text".  Below is what I have, buit I am not getting the actuation count on my images.

act: {actuations}
Date: {date}
Time: {time}
Latitude: {glat}
Longitude: {glon}
Model: {modl}
Serial #: {snum}
Firmware: {firm}
Frame #: {fnum}
Lens (mm): {lens}
ISO: {iso}
Aperture: {f}
Shutter: {shut}
Exp. Comp.: {comp}
Flash Comp.: {fcmp}
Program: {prgm}
Focus Mode: {fmod}
White Bal.: {baln}
ICC Profile: {icc}
Contrast: {tone}
Sharpening: {shrp}
Quality: {qlty}

Can you advise as to what I need to adjust to activate this feature?

Canon no longer puts the actuation count data in a format that anyone has been able to decipher.  There are rumors that the data does not exist in the files that the camera produces at all (a Canon rep told us that when we asked.)  Apparently it is only possible to tell the actuation count using proprietary Canon software with the camera plugged into a computer.

The last Canon 1D series that we were able to get actuation data on was the 1D Mark IIn model.
