Upgraded, then RE-registered by mistake (I think) - OK?
« on: November 24, 2010, 10:29:40 PM »
Hello Kirk (or anyone :-)

I bought Photo Mechanic in March of this year.
And just finished doing my second upgrade!
(I’m sooo skitzy doing stuff like this, each mission accomplished is a triumph!)
This upgrade was from Photo Mechanic 4.6.4 to 4.6.6 on my Mac.

Jerry walked me through my first upgrade, so I just mimicked the steps for this one,
including all sorts of cool steps such as
- first deleting the old photomechanic.dmg from Finder.
- then renaming photomechanic.app to photomechanic.4.6.4 by way of just archiving it
- etc.

And what do you know, another successful upgrade I think! (...thanks again Jerry)

Except, I got a little frisky at the end maybe.

After it was all done, I was just poking around my “new” Photo Mechanic 4.6.6
- clicked on Photo Mechanic -> About Photo Mechanic
- and... saw that little “Enter New Registration” button sitting there

I got the impression that I was supposed to re-register my Photo Mechanic now that I had me a new version.

I left the Name the same, and went back and found (as instructed) the original password from my original sales/registration eMail I got at the time of purchase, and plugged that in.
[...in other words, RE-registered it exACTly as I REGistered it originally]

Sent it off, restarted Photo Mechanic.  Everything seems fine.

I’m guessing that
a) this was not necessary,
and hoping that
b) I really didn’t do any harm or confuse your system any

But wanted to just ask and verify.

Thanks,

JamesD

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving to all.  Not “Turkey Day”, or “Football Day” but Thanksgiving day. I hope you and all have something to be Thankful for, and are!

What you did was harmless, yet unnecessary.  No need to worry.

As I suspected, but just wanted to ask.
Much obliged for the reply and answer.
