Highlight folder after you press ESC in preview

My workflow has a lot of subfolders with same very short name. It would help me a lot if when I exit preview mode the directory pane had the folder I have left was highlighted (as it is when I enter preview mode).

Of course what I should have said is "can the folder be highlighted in a colour I can see". This may be a Windows 7 issue. If anyone knows how to change what I will call the unselected highlight colour please tell me.
