Trying to email in windows 7

I was using XP with Outlook 2007 with know problem, now I have a new laptop using Windows 7 and when I try to insert the email adress in the who to window it wont insert it. Then I manually insert the address and it wont send in outlook. I can't figure this out please help I have to get these pics out.

Have you set Outlook 2007 to be the default MAPI client?  I'm not sure how this is done in Outlook on Windows 7, but there should be some option to make it the default MAPI client.
