setting a "hidden" cache folder

Hi all!

Hopefully a quick question with a single line answer

Got my new MacBook Pro yesterday and started from scratch.
I took out the superdrive and inserted a SSD instead. The internal HDD will only contain Data, images, etc.

I wanted to set the cache folder for PM on that Disk, too. I also wanted to have this folder hidden from the finder so I created a folder named ".cache" on the Disk.
The hidden folder is not visible (as expected!) in the select window of the preferences.

Any idea on how to set the hidden folder as cache-folder for PM?

Just type Command-Shift-period in the folder picker dialog and hidden files/folders should show up.
