Folder limits for PM?

I have a unique application for PM to read in 100,000 small TIF files and perform a "Save As..." with a watermark to a new TIF on a separate drive, but using the same folder structure as the source documents.  Target environment will be Windows.

Other than speed considerations, are there any limits to the number of image files that can be in a single folder that PM will process?  How about situations where I do a "Open Folder and all sub folders into new contact sheet" where the resulting combined contact sheet will have upwards of 100,000 TIF files?

There are no hard limits.  You can make PM run out of memory with too many files.  We have tested with 30,000 images in a single folder many times before.

It is my understanding that PM will dump all the saved as images into one folder, not a folder structure identical to the source.

Am I wrong on this? Because if there is a way to "preserve folder structure" I'd like to know

Try using {folderpath} as the destination in your Save As.
