Contact sheet navigation on Mac
« on: April 11, 2012, 06:49:06 PM »
I'm still fairly new to my MacBook (first Mac), so here's a possibly stupid question.  How do you jump to the beginning or end of a contact sheet.  I'm pretty sure that on Windows Ctrl-Home and Ctrl-End jump to the top and bottom respectively.  Most of the shortcut references make it seem like the command key with the up and down arrow keys should do the same thing, but they don't seem to do anything when you are in a contact sheet.  I've looked through the PM user's guide and can't find a likely key combination for top and bottom.  Do they exist on a Mac?

Thanks,
Danny

Danny,

Home and End work on the Mac.  No other keys need to be pressed down.

Umm... my MacBook Pro doesn't have Home and End keys.  I guess I was really asking, "Are there key combinations on the MacBook Pro that are the same as Home and End keys?  If so, what are they?"

Please pardon the Mac(Book) newbie  :D

Hold the fn key together with:
Left arrow key = Home
Right arrow key = End
Up arrow key = Page up
Down arrow key = Page down

Cheers,

Hayo,
Thank you so much... I think I tried every combination except the arrows with the fn key.  That is exactly what I was looking for.  Are those combinations generally applicable to most apps running on a MacBook, or are they PM specific?

Thanks,
Danny

They are general to OS X. Work even on desktops with fn-key keyboard.

Danny: take a look at System Preferences>Keyboard>Keyboard. You'll see a choice (uncheck the first box) which allows you to do the above while holding only the Command and Arrow Key.
