Roger,

Are you setting PM to write Ratings, Tags, and Color Classes to IPTC/XMP for all photos?  If not then when most apps update (re-save) an image then the Photo Mechanic end of file preferences will be lost.

Please post screenshots of your Files and IPTC/XMP settings.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshots.

Thanks,

Roger,

In the Files section of the Photo Mechanic Preferences dialog where it says "Add tag, color class, and rating to IPTC/XMP:" make sure the popup menu says "For all photos".  You did not have the setting set as I had asked you earlier.  Perhaps I wasn't clear.

Then update any one of those settings (toggle tag twice will suffice) on a photo and then try modifying that photo with Photoshop.  The problem should be solved.

Also, make sure if you are saving from CS6's ACR dialog, you have at least All except camera & camera raw info selected in the Metadata option of that dialog.

Settings look fine.  Did you take the additional steps I outlined in my last posting on this thread?  Did you cause PM to update your files before you edited them again in Photoshop CS6?  Did you also follow Frantisek's advice?

Roger,

What kind of images are you working with?  How are you saving the modified images (Save as from the File menu, or saving from the Adobe Camera Raw dialog?)

I don't have Photoshop CS6 yet so I may not be able to help you with it specifically.

I work with Nikon D4 NEF i ingest images with PM open them as 16 bit raw in CS6 I do all adjustments in CS6 and then i convert them to 8 bit before saving them in the same folder as .jpg. and before that i I tag and color class images in PM. it worked before the last beta update. mane I`ll have to wait for PM 5....

Roger,

Can you send me a sample output file?  (Go ahead and make it small in size so you can email it to me.)  I'd like to see what metadata makes it into the output JPEG file.

Thanks,

-Kirk
