Star ratings gone after upgrade to Photo Mechanic 5

I just upgraded and when I opened the edit for an entire season of studio shots my ratings were gone. When I opened the same edit in the previous version of Photo Mechanic the stars were also gone. Questions: why is this happening? Can I get them back (this edit represents days worth of work)?

What build of Photo Mechanic: Version 5 are you running? (see the About box)
What kind of files are you browsing?
On what kind of media are they stored (Computer's hard drive, Network drive, CD or DVD disk, etc.)

OS: OS X 10.6.8
browsing jpg files from a rugged external drive.
I had the edit star rated and worked on the edit with the drive on two different computers. Had no problem, worked until I upgraded.

not sure what's up but the ratings are back but I'll attach an image anyway. I've had one other issue that came and went—the key command for closing the preview window (command w) only works some of the time.

The Command-W problem will be fixed in the next build.
