IPTC/XMP with NEF and JPG

I have two computers, iMac and MBA (Lion).
I treat my NEF only with iMac where I keep NEF+JPG.
I transfer JPG ans XMP (not NEF) on MBA with automatic bidirectional synchronisation (ChronoSync)

Sometimes I add keywords on MBA, for example in picture1.jpg.
After transfer on iMac IPTC of picture1.jpg are fine, not picture1.nef.

I need transfer IPTC from picture1.jpg to picture1.nef on iMac.
So if I do a new work on my nef, IPTC will be fine on new jpg. Actually, I lost y changes.

I know it is possible with info table, but not easy for a big lot.

Is there another possibilty ?

I hoped success with XMP but I have many troubles with preferences-IPTC/XMP.
I find :
   When writing IPYT/XMP
   For jpeg…
   Add embedded… (XMP will aways be written)

I never obtain written XMP !

Don't bother copying the XMP files from your iMac to your MacBookAir.  XMP sidecar files are never used with JPEGs.

Just work with your JPEGs on your MacBookAir and when you're ready to update your iMac's NEF/XMP files, use your ChronoSync application to copy the JPEGs back to the iMac.  Then:

Open the folder containing the JPEGs and NEFs on the iMac.  The JPEGs and the NEFs should join together (as long as you have RAW+JPEG viewing enabled.)  Now select all of the photos.  Use the Update IPTC/XMP command on the Tools menu.  Choose the first selection (Read IPTC/XMP from JPEG) and then click on the Update button.

The XMP files on your iMac should now reflect all of the changes you made on your MacBookAir.
