Contact sheets won't open, won't refresh when ingesting photos

After I replaced my HDD with SSD everything else works fine but contact sheets won't open anymore regardless of preferences/settings. Also, when I ingest photos to same folder with photos in it the contact sheet won't refresh. Only workaround is to close the contact sheet and re-open it. I tried deleting preference file and importing the settings back but that didn't work. I also tried repairing disk permissions but no luck with that either.

I'm using PM 5.0 build 13507 and OS X 10.8.2.

How did you go about replacing your drive?  Did you clone the drive?  Did you just install the OS on the new drive and then copy backed up files to the new drive?

It sounds to me like your user account ID changed and you aren't the actual owner of your files anymore.  Post a screen shot of the Get Info window on one of your folders, please.  Use the 'Attachments and other options' link when you're composing your reply to this message and there you'll be able to upload your JPEG format screenshot.

I did re-install the OS and then restored all data from Time Machine backup. Everything still looks to be like it should be.

OK, so what I want you to do is open up a Terminal window (Applications/Utilities/Terminal) and issue the following command: (copy and paste the results back here)

id (hit enter)

Then do the following:

1) Switch to the Finder and find one of the folders you're having problems with refreshing.
2) Switch back to the Terminal and enter:
    ln -ln (add an extra space after -ln )
3) Switch back to the Finder and drag the folder onto the Terminal window and drop it there.
4) Switch back to the Terminal window and hit enter.
5) Copy and paste the output back here.

Yes, I meant 'ls' instead of 'ln'.  How about the folder containing the images?  It would have been the entry with the name '.' (dot).  What does that item say its uid and gid are?

Also, it looks like your file has extended attributes (xattrs) associated with it.  What does xattr -l _MAC8244.jpg output?

Looks fine, I think. Just an indication that it's a jpeg file.

Hmm, this could very well be it. But that would mean there's a case mismatch in the PM code. Kirk may be able to verify this before you alter your complete system (to my knowledge you can't change the file system without reformatting the drive)

When I changed my Macbook, I used the Migration Assistant.app (located in Applications/Utilities) to transfer all my programs and data from one hd to another. It worked just fine (just my two cents).

The above is likely the Finder's creator/file type info that was previously stored in the resource fork of a file.

PM5 should be compatible with case-sensitive file systems.  We don't recommend them, but they should work fine with PM5.

I see no issue with the parent folder.

I think I'll have to build you a version that lists which files it is accepting when rescanning.

I'll get you one out in a day or two.

However, now I noticed that when I export photos from Lightroom and have the contact sheet open for that directory, everything refreshes as normal. It looks like the problem relates only to ingesting new images from memory cards.
