When I'm reviewing a an already-tagged shoot & I double click on an image to the enlarged (single-image) view, I have to look in the bottom right corner to see what color it has been tagged.
If the entire image had a thin border around it & the border was the color of the tag, I could immediately know how it was tagged.
This may sound minor but if I'm editing a 5,000-image shoot it would save me time.
