inconsistent cursor behavior during captioning
« on: May 19, 2013, 02:17:40 AM »
Hi Kirk!

PM 5, Build 13915, Mac OS 10.8.3

When captioning images the cursor is placed at 2 different positions, depending on how you open the IPTC window.

1.) Pressing "I" from the preview or thumbnail view sets the cursor to the 1st character. (That's what I want)
2.) When advancing with Command-N in the IPTC editor to "save and next" the cursor is placed at the end of the caption for the next image.

Is that expected?

Thanks
Sven
After 5 years of absence I restarted the photography.

I don't know if it is intentional behavior or just a side-effect of not specifically positioning the cursor.

Kirk,

my process is as follows:

During ingest a caption is applied like " during event bla bla bla".
When pressing "I" for opening the IPTC window, the cursor is at the 1st position (before the space character). I just have to type #BIB-Number# to finish my caption.

When pressing Command-N to save and advance the cursor jumps after the last character currently in the caption. So I need a Command-UP to jump into the front again.

Sven,
It happens with me too. Exactly the same dual behavior depending on how you open the iptc info.
I think it is "normal" behavior...
