To the original poster: I do not see the benefit of creating an image with a circular crop.
It is not a feature we would be interested in adding to Photo Mechanic at this time.

Some people use this circular crop for their thumbnails on websites. That's pretty much the only place I've seen them widely used. Obviously this is something that can be done in Photoshop but I think the original requestor was looking to circumvent photoshop altogether.
