Sony EXIF data
« on: April 21, 2014, 01:32:57 PM »
PM does not display available exif data for my Sony cameras.  This became an issue with the NEX-6 about 18 months ago and continues with the a6000.  Lens model, quality, focus mode are a few examples.  Exiftool data file is attached, and a screen shot from PM.

Am I displaying the wrong fields in my Info settings or is Sony not putting the data where PM expects to find it?

Thanks.

Russ,

PM doesn't parse the maker note (proprietary camera maker Exif info) for Sony cameras.  This is where a number of non-standard, camera-specific Exif fields live.  I will take a look into adding this as Sony is becoming increasingly popular.  Unfortunately Sony changes the format frequently as new models come out, and this increases the complexity.

Regards,

Seconded - if you have hundreds in my case if images done over a weekend - I cant see where I used WB auto and manual, cant see other useful data when editing and doing my lessons learned (new to my sony a7rii) photo mechanic was supposed to provide all the information I needed and transfer to Photoshop or lightroom - No full JPG either....

Be great for fully SOny support, will only get more requests i suspect.
