Can't Open Last Contact Sheet

Win 7 64 bit, PM 5 build 15800

I have set in the preferences "on startup open last contact sheet (if available)" but PM never opens with my last viewed contact sheet but always the same different contact sheet, as if it's stuck on the same folder.  I always have to manually navigate to my chosen folder. This happens on both my computers, yet it was working before. Can anyone help/suggest where I'm now going wrong?

Clive,

It sounds like PM is unable to save any changes to its preferences database.  You can try and make some other change in the Preferences dialog, quit PM, and then open up PM again and check the setting to see if it is retained.  If not, then I suggest resetting your preferences: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=8219.0

Now when I restart PM and it asked for a new contact sheet to open, as the preferences were trashed, this new contact sheet becomes my new default folder whenever I open PM, irrespective of what my last opened folder was.

OK, well then I'll have to get to the bottom of this problem by sending you builds that I create that attempt to either gain new information via logging or fix the problem.  Are you interested in working with me to solve the problem?

I'll get you a link to a build of PM that will log additional information.  You'll download and install it.  Then you'll run it and reproduce the problem.  Then you'll choose "Reveal Support Data..." from the Help menu and send me the zipped PM.log file.  I'll look at the info in the log file and if I can fix the problem, I will make you a new build which you'll then test and tell me if the problem is fixed.  If I can't fix it with the information I learned from the log file, I may add more diagnostics and we'll repeat the process again until I fix it.
