Previews look soft

When I am viewing images in the Photo Mechanic preview window (control R) in full screen mode sharp images look soft. I am using Photo Mechanic 4.6.9 on a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. In am shooting RAW+JPEG on a Canon 1DX.

The problem seems to be the default scaling on the Surface ~Pro due to it's high resolution screen. The windows default settings are below.

Windows
Control Panel
All Control Panel Items
Display
Change the size off all items
Larger 150% (checked)

If I change the setting  to 100% the previews in Photo Mechanic look sharp but the computer is almost unusable as every icon and all the text appear extremely small. Is there any way to tell Photo Mechanic to scale the preview correctly?

Any help much appreciated.

Danny,

You need to upgrade to Photo Mechanic: Version 5.  It supports high resolution displays.  PM 4.6.x does not.
