Regarding the panels which display at the left-hand side of the Contact Sheet window:
My choice for whether or not the Favorites panel is visible is sticky between sessions. However, if I choose to have the Favorites panel visible, my choice for the relative vertical length of the Favorites panel is not sticky -- regardless of how short or how long I make this panel, its length reverts to a default upon closing and re-opening the program.
This is just FYI; it is not at all important to me.
