Hi,
What OS do you use? and what version of PM?
What is the error message?
Thanks in advance.

I use Mac OSX 10.8.5 - PM v5.0, build 16268

Code: [Select]
Error copying: /Volumes/EOS_DIGITAL/DCIM/100EOS5D/MK3_0416.CR2 to: /Volumes/My Passport/2015/20150228/MK3_0416.CR2
Warning: Finished copying from volume "/Volumes/EOS_DIGITAL/", but not unmounting because there were errors.

The files are hidden, that's the problem.

What do you mean with "hidden"?
Do the files copy just fine when you try to do it via the finder/explorer?

Dear Hayo
I don't get your point, yes there are hidden files on Macintosh OSX and if you enable the possibility to view them , you can see them.

How did those hidden files get there?  Photo Mechanic certainly won't name them like that in any of the operations it does.

Do you format your card in your camera before each job?

Any idea how those files became named that way?

I asked because to my knowledge cameras don't lock files by making them hidden, they only make them read only. The fact that you have hidden files on your card means something else is at play!

Do you access your cards with any other software besides PM.
Have you hacked your camera with magic lantern perhaps?

@Hayo
 I will try to explain; I take the shoot on assignment I look them instantly and lock the one that I like.
Get back to my laptop and start ingesting.
The files Ingest with the error to copy.

The files are not hidden at the card, the files are hidden on my external HDD.

@Kirk
I found the problem.
The problem persist when I ingest the files to external HDD, but when I ingest them on my laptop HDD then they copy fine.

Try it yourself. It's maybe a bug?

We'd be happy to investigate.  What preconditions and steps must one take in order to reproduce this problem?

CF card (Card Reader) --> MacBook Air (PM v5) --> External HDD (Folder 2015)

Settings are looking good to me.

So you ingest straight to the external HD. What is the file system used on this drive? (Use the disk utility application found in the utilities folder in the applications folder on your Mac).

ExFat

Right, I haven't used ExFat at all so far so can not tell you if this is the problem or not, but it sounds likely. Is there a particular reason you formatted it as exfat and not as Mac native?
