Most effective way to load new release

I am running Ver 5 Build 16299 on Mac OSX Ver 10.10.30. I downloade the suggested version upgrade installed and the version umber still reds 16299. What is the best means of upgrading to the most recent update.

It's a simple drag and drop affair.  Drag the Photo Mechanic application icon from the disk image onto your Applications folder.  If your current PM5 is there already, then the Finder will prompt you to replace it.  If it copies with no complaints whatsoever, then it is likely you have your current PM5 in some other location and you'll need to find it and remove it.
