2nd Monitor Colour Woes
« on: July 22, 2015, 11:32:05 AM »
iMac running 10.8.5
2nd Monitor, natively profiled NEC PA272W

When I drag the Preview Window to the second monitor it does not apply the correct colour profile so the image looks terrible.
I don't have the same problem with Photoshop where I can have a split window across both monitors with corrected color on both halves.
The color profile gamut symbol at the top right of the screen is saturated (i.e. active).

Any thoughts???

What version of Photo Mechanic are you using?

 Version 5.0, build 16299 (579a307)

Occasionally it works...I can't figure out the trigger.

Does the profile assigned to your monitor change frequently?  PM only gets the profile for each monitor at startup.

Have you tried emptying your Disk Cache?

So I'm using an iMac with an NEC PA272W as a secondary.
Its a fantastic monitor.
By default PM opens the Preview Screen on the Primary Monitor (the iMac).
When I drag it it doesn't seem to load the secondary monitor's profile.
How can I get it to lo pen the Preview Screen directly onto the secondary monitor?

It should reopen on the same monitor it was last closed on.  If you open the Preview window, move it to your secondary monitor, and then close it and reopen it, does it not reopen on your second monitor?

So it does, and now that I've walked away for an hour it works fine.
Immediately after exporting a catalog from Lightroom it would not work...
I have a strong feeling its system related (not you guys) but its really driving me nuts!!!
I'll keep you posted

OK. Please do.  Beyond this, I'll have you turn on some logging in the color management system and hopefully it would show what is going wrong.
