Photo Mechanic: Version 5 Build 15419
« on: March 25, 2014, 04:11:55 PM »
Hello Everyone,

We have a new updated build that solves a number of issues present in the 15277 build.  Please see below for the notes.

Mac:
http://www.camerabits.com/download/PhotoMechanic5R15419.dmg

Windows:
http://www.camerabits.com/download/PM5SetupR15419.exe

PM5 Build 15419 Log

Both:
• Operations that need specific metadata for their work now wait for the metadata to be loaded. Things like “Select Tagged” may take longer as a result, but the results are correct when completed.
• Fixed reliability problems with tagging/rating/color labeling images.
• Fixed generation of GMT offsets in dates/times when GMT offset was greater than 12 hours. http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=8977.0 (long troubleshooting thread)
• Added an error message box with specific warnings/probable solutions for when an error occurs while preparing files for upload.
• Added command-line (scriptable) activation, deactivation, and activated status query capability. See http://wiki.camerabits.com/en/index.php?title=Registering_Photo_Mechanic#Activation_via_Command_Line
• Duplicate entries in IPTC customization settings/preferences are now removed.
• Move to Trash option in Files preferences now offers the playing of a “Move-to-Trash” sound when one or more files are moved to the Trash/Recycle Bin.
• Fixed a problem that would prevent PM from starting its scripting engine if the install location contained non-ASCII characters.
• Fixed error leading to PhotoShelter uploader failing to initialize following a change to the location where Photo Mechanic was installed.
• Updated built-in manual to current state of online manual.
• Proxy items no longer allow themselves to be tagged/rated/color classified or show up in the IPTC Info dialog.
• Fixed a problem that could cause a crash when Adjusting Capture Times on items that are damaged and cannot load metadata or thumbnails.

Windows:
• Added a 64-bit version of the PM Shell Menu. This will allow users to right-click on a folder in Windows Explorer and open the folder in Photo Mechanic directly.
• Fixed some crash problems that would occur at random times (a low-level system wasn’t protecting itself from multi-threaded access patterns.)
• Fixed a problem with Adjusting Capture Times on photos that had non-existent capture times in their EXIF data.
• Fixed a problem where the Zoom state of the Preview window would keep changing if you left the Preview window open and launched another photo into Preview from the Contact Sheet.

Mac:
• Inaccessible windows are now moved onscreen. http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=8945.0
• Fixed a hang that could occur when rendering a textual watermark that evaluated to empty text.
