Not sure if a bug or just the way things have to work

If you're in the middle of renaming a photo from the contact sheet and you resize the thumbnails, the box that is showing the filename doesn't move with the newly resized thumbnail. It just floats in the same spot on the screen.

It's a bug. We suggest clicking to an empty spot on the Contact Sheet before using one of the controls in the toolbar, or pressing Return to confirm the rename before using one of the toolbar controls.
