I am confused, on my MAC I can not use anymore 1-5 without command or shift to set rating,

If I look at my shortcut, in contact sheet it's set as single number, so it should work... but nothing is happening.
In Preview mode, the shortcut is also set to single digit BUT it"s working only whit SHIFT CONTROL + DIGIT

That is not happening on PC.

I am running Sequoia 15.5 and Photo Mechanic version 2025.6, build 8622 (d8fe3d8)

What keyboard and language are you using on your Mac?

That's odd.  I tested on a French AZERTY keyboard layout.  Unfortunately, I did not realize that the number keys on that layout require pressing the Shift key to produce numbers.  If you re-record those keys in the Keyboard Shortcuts page of the Settings dialog, with your non-shifted number keys then this should solve the problem.

Seems like having a single shortcut for a single feature across the whole app could be a good idea after all

I understand one thing :
PHotomechanics now handle differently : SHIFT + key and CAPSLOCK + Key

To rate my pictures with 0-5 I press CAPLOCK and then I can go in preview mode from picture to picture and single press 0-5 in AZERTY
but when SHIFT + 1 is a shortcut, CAPLOCK + 1 does nothing (and a buzz error can be heard)

Record them as à, &, é, ", ', and (

Then you don't have to press Shift or use Capslock which isn't the same as pressing Shift.

Yes, thats's exactly what I did. But it's strange on other app, there is no difference between Shift and Capslock and also on previous Photomechanical versions.

Do you want Photo Mechanic to treat Caps Lock being set to act like you have the Shift key down?  Wouldn't you find yourself needing to turn the Caps Lock off when you want to type text (renaming, captioning, etc.) ?
