Dragging folders into untitled tab issue
« on: October 18, 2012, 01:40:37 AM »
Hi Kirk.
I think I've found a bug on iMac OSX 10.8.2 PM V5 build 13444. PM doesn't seem to be opening folders dragged from the desktop into an untitled tab. If you drag a folder into a tab with pictures in it the dragged folder will be opened. I'm sure this is a new bug on the latest version.

Paul,

I think I've found a bug on iMac OSX 10.8.2 PM V5 build 13444. PM doesn't seem to be opening folders dragged from the desktop into an untitled tab. If you drag a folder into a tab with pictures in it the dragged folder will be opened. I'm sure this is a new bug on the latest version.

Try dragging the folder onto the application icon in the dock.  I'll look into this issue.

I've noticed the exact same problem just now with Photo Mechanic Version 5.0, build 13444 (c5a5ad3) on OSX 10.7.4

Hope it gets looked into soon as I'm in and out of dozens of folders every day. Dragging to the application icon does work - but seems much more ineligant in comparison.

In the mean time I'm assuming I can temporarily downgrade without any problems.

Yes that does work but not as quick and easy. I can't downgrade as I've trashed the installer!

You both could downgrade to go back to build 13217, but you would now have all of the following issues revert to not being fixed:

Both:
√ Fixed issue with crops on soft-rotated images that are re-rendered on Capture NX show the correct crop on thumbnails but the incorrect crop on previews: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7673.0
√ Fixed issue with crops on DNG files that have been re-saved in Photoshop's ACR plugin: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7728.0
√ Fixed case where Color class changes were not sticking if IPTC Info was also saved: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7732.0
√ Fixed issue where scaled images with constrained crops didn't always match constraint ratio: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7698
√ Fixed an issue where RAW images cropped with the Photoshop ACR plugin that have a constrained crop ratio that doesn't match the ratio of the actual crop rectangle would cause the crop to appear rotated.
√ Fixed an issue where sequence variable changes were not staying persistent: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7592.0 and http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7530.0 and http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7659.0
√ Using a copyright symbol in the PM Classic Exporter template now works correctly: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7287.0
√ Fixed issue with setting tag, rating, or color class on Pentax RAW (.PEF) files: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7778.0
√ Added new keyboard shortcuts for IPTC Info dialog (http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7500.msg35705#msg35705)
√ Fixed an issue with parsing corrupted camera manufacturer's Maker Notes that would cause PM to crash.
√ Re-enabled the Write as Unicode checkbox in the IPTC/XMP settings.
√ Fixed an issue in the IPTC Info dialog where switching from Capture Date to Date when IPTC Info dialog is forced to use Capture Date would cause odd dates to appear.
√ Fixed an issue with saving crop presets when a constraint specifies one of the ratios as 1.0: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7839.0
√ Fixed an issue with empty {frame4} variable when renaming during Ingest: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7783.msg37142
√ Fixed an issue with interpreting characters in the EXIF description and artist tags.

Mac:
√ Code signing on Mac is now Mountain Lion/Gatekeeper compatible.
√ Fixed issue with deleting images on Network volumes: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7671.0
√ Fixed Color Management issues: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7614.0
√ Fixed Performance issues with PM 5 and Mac OS X 10.8: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7650.0
√ Fixed a memory leak in table view row highlighting code.
√ Enabled RAW rendering for Pentax RAW (.PEF) files.
√ Fixed an issue with dragging images outside Photo Mechanic (Desktop, Finder window, etc.) and using modifier keys: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7777.0
√ Mouse wheel scrubs on videos that haven't been started playing: http://forums.camerabits.com/index.php?topic=7733.0 (Now Command key must be held down to scrub through videos.)
√ Fixed issue with dragging and dropping images from one contact sheet to another.
√ Fixed issue with dragging and dropping RAW+JPEG pairs whose files reside in different folders but have been combined into a single contact sheet.

I'll make sure that the next build will allow you to drag folders into Untitled tabs.

I have this same issue on Mac OSX 10.6.8: dragging a folder no longer loads the thumbs in a PM window. Worked in the previous version just fine. Dragging the folder to the PM app icon does work though.

Thanks for the post. Dragging to icon works fine for now. But would love a fix. Thanks.
