search caption/description kn IPTC mdtadata

It seems that you cannot search for "caption/description" metadata in the catalog. Is this true? it is part of the IPYTC metadata template of tagging new images.

False.  You can search the Caption.  Entering text in the Quick Search field in the Search tab of the Organizer searches the Caption by default.
